Green responsibility
„To remember the end of everything you do,
that’s sustainable“
Eric Schweitzer
At Kaiserdom Brewery, we continuously work to reduce the use of energy and resources in our production processes. To achieve this, we invest in modern technology and more efficient production systems.
One important example is our low-energy brewhouse, which was commissioned in 2019. Compared with conventional brewhouse technology, it can reduce primary energy consumption by up to 60% and water consumption by up to 40%.
In addition, we operate our own wastewater treatment system as well as a CO₂ recovery system. CO₂ generated during the brewing process is captured, treated and reused within the production process, helping to reduce the need for externally supplied CO₂.
Regionality and the responsible use of resources are important to us as a family-owned brewery. This also applies to the way we source our electricity.
Since 2010, the electricity we purchase from Stadtwerke Bamberg has been sourced from hydropower. This is one of several measures through which we aim to reduce the environmental impact of our production and use resources more efficiently.
Together with investments in modern production technology, reduced energy and water consumption, wastewater treatment and CO₂ recovery, this forms part of our ongoing efforts to improve the efficiency of our brewing operations.
